Composite Shutters

Composite Shutters are more durable, designed to last even longer than our already durable wood shutters.

Shutters are the covering people ask us about most on Oahu, and they’re also the one where material choice matters most. A hardwood shutter that would last thirty years on the mainland can start sticking in its frame after two wet seasons in Kaneohe. Composite is what we recommend for most of this island — Graber builds it to resist moisture, so it won’t fade, crack, peel or warp, and it handles bathrooms, kitchens and anywhere open to a lanai. Hardwood is the right call for interior rooms away from moisture where you want visible grain. Louvers come in 2½”, 3½” and 4½”; the 3½” is what we fit most often, and the 4½” gives you the most view through the window when the louvers are open. We build full-height, café-style, tier-on-tier, arched, bypass track and French door configurations, and we handle AOAO-compliant colors for Honolulu buildings that require a uniform look from the street.
